The place to tune your BMW, Audi or Volkswagen

What is the difference between a flash tune and a custom tune?

A flash tune is when the file being uploaded to the car is ready and downloaded off a database which stores them whilst a custom tune (what we specialize in) is when the software is taken directly off the car and modified according to engine response . A bit like having a suit tailored to fit. Not every size fits all .

What is OBD, Bench Mode & Boot Mode ?

These are three different methods we use in order to access or overwrite the files data in your ECU. 1: OBD method is through your OBD diagnostic port ( Most cars). 2: Bench method is by connecting directly to the ECU’s pins on the connector – usually by taking the ECU out of the car onto work bench ( some cars ). 3: Boot mode is by splitting the ECU open and connecting directly to the motherboard ( Very few cars).

Unfortunately, No. Diesel self ignites inside the cylinders without spark plugs just by high compression as a result it is not possible to do overrun and pops and bangs on them like you see on petrol cars

can i revert my car back to factory at anytime?

Yes, we can upload your original file back into your car at anytime even if it was not remapped by us.

will remapping affect manufacturers warranty?

Simple answer is Yes if they can find out & prove it. If its under warranty, any modification you do to your car can potentially void your warranty at the time of claim. please refer to your manufacture’s T’s & C’s

can i get pops and bangs/flames without removing the catalytic converter?

We recommend removing your cat for pops & bangs even if you have cat back exhaust, performance cat, res or backbox delete. The reason for that is, cat can potentially get damaged by the mini explosions of pops & bangs. Also around 40% of the sound of your exhaust is restricted by your cat, so it wouldn’t pop as loud or as nicely as it would without the cat. But if customers still want pops and bangs before cat removals we can still do it for them. for flames we recommend straight through exhaust

can pops and bangs damage my engine ?

There is no evidence to suggest that pops and bangs can damage the engine’s internals, as  the pops and bangs do not happen inside the engine. When there’s 0 load on the engine, and its reving down, some of the unburnt air fuel mixture travels down and comes in contact with the hot exhaust which makes it pop & crackle as they explode. Flame works the same way but with more rich air fuel mixture. Many of the new cars come with overrun pops & crackles enabled from factory which indicates its not harmful for the engine.

difference between stage 1 2 3 tuning ..

Stage 1 is for stock engines without any hardware mods. Stage 2 is for slightly modified engines such as decat downpipe and cold air intake. Stage 3 is for heavily modified engines such as uprated turbos, uprated intercooler, decat, uprated coils and other uprated parts.

can i go straight to stage 2 without doing stage 1 first

Yes as long as you have required supporting mods for each stages. Without supporting mods engine will not be able to perform according to the data request in the ecu’s file

My car is already tuned elsewhere but i want it tuned to my driving style . i want more low down mid range power and torque for local driving . can you do a remap to suit this ?

Yes absolutely ! We specialise in in house live/custom file developing according to owners driving style. Whereas most off the shelf files purchased from data bases/portals by majority of flash remappers only have power higher up the rev range and nothing low down.

can data inside the the remap change over time?

It is absolutely impossible for the data inside your ecu’s file to change by it self, even after 500 years, the ecu will still request the same amount of boost, fuelling & torque etc from your engine and its component. Your engine will follow those request according to its current overall health. eg lets say the ecu is requesting 2500milibars of boost from the turbo, the turbo will have no issues producing that amount of boost when its healthy, but lets say after 20 years 200k of use, wear and tear on turbo, so when the ecu still requests 2500mbars of boost, it might just be able to produce only 2400mbars. So when you experience issues or power loss, its usually a worn out component somewhere, the moment you replace it with a new one, it gets it performance back. So its not map data that changes, its the hardware, as all hardware have life span
